MSYS terminals don't update current line

Spawned off from rustwasm/wasm-pack#284 (comment), but on the current master in an MSYS terminal you get:

@alexcrichton my understanding is that this is coming from the unicode characters used. For this reason yarn switched to #. Might be worth investigating if changing the characters fixes it for you.

This might actually be something else. I unfortunately currently do not have a windows machine available, would be great to get a pull request that fixes this.
