Feature Request: Channel Selection Preview

We have a case where we are prohibiting the client from editing a channel or creating new entries in the channel. It's because the entries in the channel are SVGs and we don't want them to upload incorrect SVGs, so we are choosing to manage those uploads ourselves. However, the client will be picking from the channel items when adding an SVG to a block or other field. It would be a nice feature if they could preview the contents of the channel item they are selecting, or show the image field from that channel item once it's been chosen. This could be an optional setting that's turned on or off in privileges or by channel field.
