Use fields accross multiple Matrix blocks

It would be very handy to allow sharing of fields across multiple blocks. i.e. I have a video block and an image block; both have captions so the caption field needs to be duplicated in each block. It would be nice to be able to pull from the all the custom fields in your Matrix blocks.

Likewise, I have several fields that support UI changes on the front-end, but this FR seems to address that. (margin/no margin; border/no border; background color; etc)

I had a related idea that I think may be best added here vs. another feature request. In the case that Matrix fields stay part of a Matrix, what if an admin could define which Matrix Blocks appeared on a per Section basis?

We have several sites with several reusable fields as well. A challenge arises when we want to customize the field UI of each section to the specific section, but then we need 80% of the same fields in another section.mRather than reassigning the fields, what if we were just able to toggle on/off which blocks appeared per section?

This would allow admins to setup a large matrix field that is similar across sections but which might have slightly different field needs from section to section. Rather than needing to re-add tens of fields for another Matrix field that was similar, instead you could just supress the availability of the fields that we're applicable to the section you were in.

I would take this one step farther and love the ability to use ANY FIELD as a Matrix field. On almost every project I've used Matrix on I've had Matrix blocks with fields that are exact duplicates of fields I'm using outside of Matrix blocks elsewhere. This kind of duplication is difficult to stay on top of, especially when an update to one field means you need to find any Matrix blocks that use the same field and make that update there.

I am 100% with Timothy! FTW! And maybe these "Blocks" could be customized... E.g. Upload Directories, Rich Text settings, Instructions and Titles...

Even better, I think, would be if Matrix-cell fields were just normal fields, so you could reuse for a regular field OR a Matrix cell.
