At this session, we tested out the new CrossCompute icon found on the right-hand sidebar of Jupiter lab. When the user clicks on the icon, a new section expands from right to left. Within this new space, there are three new grayed-out switch buttons with labels: (i) Launch, (ii) Render, (iii) Deploy.

A. From what I understand, each tool will have its own set of switches. However, as it is implemented, after switching to a new tool the user has to turn off the switch (activated for the prior tool) and then toggle the switch back on for the current tool.
A1. It would be effective if the switches had a relationship with each individual tool so that the user understands whether the tool they are looking at has been launched/rendered/deployed.

B. When one clicks on one of the buttons it changes from a gray switch to a red switch.
B1. It's not clear as to what the button is supposed to do or if it did it successfully. An engineer is able to confirm its action through an investigation of the Developer Console in the browser.
B2. Let's change the color of the switch from red to green.

C. Other Ideas
C1. Since the switches are just on/off, why not just make the switches the sidebar button(s)?
