Dynamic range for FACS (sfig 4) misleading because it's smeared by lognormal noise (PCR) relative to UMI.

But numbers of diff exp genes between two similar populations is still of interest, may be quantifiable. Interesting to compare sharpness (for highly expressed w/ UMI) vs number (b/c lowly expressed show up in FACS).
