Is there a strong reason to go back? @AlmightyYakob and @mvandenburgh, thoughts?

I'm not sure we even have the option, since we now rely on this process to ensure the version is correctly provided. Regardless, if we were to change our deployment setup, it'd likely be for a different reason.
