We should develop more resilient install instructions. When anaconda updated to python3.6, ggplot became unavailable. We should point learners to a specific version of software that is known to work, and then update that version after testing.

This might be related to ongoing discussions with how best to manage installation in Software Carpentry. This conda-based option looks promising: carpentries/workshop-template#395
