The local component of the repository doesn't cooperate with Qubes as well as it could. In particular, since data is stored in /var/lib bunch of things evaporate between restarts, including critical stuff like lnd seed and database. Also services try to launch in templatevm leading to breakages (e.g. Tor doesn't run by default). Standalone VMs run fine.

Also not being able to share bitcoind sucks.

While running local on Qubes is not the intended production usage it can be valuable for testing and one day even production for some users.
