Describe the solution you'd like
We are requesting the addition of support for the PowerFlex 4.6 storage array in the upcoming CSI-PowerFlex v2.11.0 driver release. PowerFlex 4.6 is a new version of the backend storage array with advanced features and improved performance capabilities. Incorporating support for this storage array will enable us to leverage its full potential within our Kubernetes/OCP (COs) environments using the CSI driver.

Describe alternatives you've considered
To incorporate support for PowerFlex 4.6, the following changes are required:

  • Driver Configuration: Update the CSI-PowerFlex driver configuration to recognize and correctly interface with PowerFlex 4.6.
  • API Integration: Ensure that all API calls are compatible with the new features and performance improvements offered by PowerFlex 4.6.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing to validate the integration, ensuring stability and performance benchmarks are met.
  • Documentation: Update the official documentation to include configuration steps, feature descriptions, and troubleshooting tips specific to PowerFlex 4.6.

Additional context

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct an analysis of the PowerFlex 4.6 architecture and features to understand the integration requirements.
  • Development: Modify the CSI-PowerFlex driver code to support the new storage array version.
  • Testing: Implement a comprehensive testing strategy to verify the integration's performance and stability.
  • Documentation: Update the user guides and technical documentation with relevant information about PowerFlex 4.6 support.
