Dear developers,

Can you please make it possible to automatically view the oldest copy of a page (specifically Wayback Machine and Archive.is)?
Adding this feature would enable the user to go from a paywalled newspaper article to its full version in one step.

I appreciate you considering my suggestion.
Thank you for your time.

For the Wayback Machine the URL simply needs to change from web.archive.org/web/*/XXX to web.archive.org/web/1000/XXX to receive the oldest instead of the newest result.

automatically? I don't think so, or make it an option.
because personally I don't use the archives for reading paywalled articles, only to check now-offline websites, and I don't necessarily need the oldest version possible.

Both options will be supported. I've just finished rewriting the extension user interface (will be published this week), which will finally make it easier to implement the features we need.

Once search engine customization is also implemented, you'll be able to configure Wayback Machine.
