CRS setting and Scene georeferencing through script

Is there a way to to set the CRS from user input. I noticed that only predefined CRS can be used, I plan on running a script that builds a model through command line but I need to be able to geo reference the scene. Any Ideas?

I've also noticed the SRS class in .core.proj but how would I adapt to to be able to use user input?
