TL;DR Visual Studio should have an error displayed in the "Error List" instead of a warning.


It still shows as a warning here (I would think it would show an error)

but now it fails the build (intended behavior) (thanks for fixing this!)

First step is to figure out who is responsible for placing this error in the Error List. It may the project system or CPS.

Stumbled across this issue today. Very annoying that this quite important warning cannot be turned into a proper error that actually fails the build.
