According to @kojiwakayama the latest version is "plug-and-play" for recent Sony A-series cameras. 🙌

Restarted Mac, but sadly my camera is not recognised by Zoom ...
It appears as one of the options in the Video source selection:

But the image does not appear:

After much head-scratching and retracing steps, I read through the comments on YT and decided to try a different USB cable!

Camera works now!

Ignore the unattractive subject. The point is that the camera works as a Web Cam! 🎉
Sadly the A7 (MK1) is not supported. But that's OK. There are still plenty of other uses for it. 👍
