Documentation build and contribution process description missing

Trying to figure out how to do contributions to the documentation that is published via github-pages is tricky.
The docs branch contains not only the "docs" folder, but also a copy of the code and there is no mention on the README how documentation is built and deployed. It would be great if there was some guidance available.

The source for documentation has been moved to docs-src. And the build version is hosted under docs. Will add a chapter to the readme on how to build the website.
