After creating a .odesign file, throught a Viewpoint Specification Project or as an independent file, every .aird files in the workspace will be altered.

I don't know if the problem is specific to my machine, but I was able to reproduce it on two different versions of Gemoc Studio (build 2020-01-16 and 2020-01-28) with openjdk 1.8.0_242

This problem also occurs when saving changes in an odesign file.

This looks to be a Sirius issue
in order to make sure this is related to the packaging in GEMOC and not just Sirius (in the later case the issue should be reported in their bugzilla)
Can you:

  • try with a standard eclipse Modelling (https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/) then add Sirius from the update site or try with the Eclipse provided by Sirius (https://www.eclipse.org/sirius/download.html)

  • and/or/ provide an export of yours projects in order to reproduce your issue

  • and/or provide clearer (step-by step) instructions to reproduce the issue (how many workbenches do you use ? only the language workbench ? the (second runtime) workbench ? in which workbench are your projects

It seems the problem is a Sirius issue, I was able to reproduce it on an Eclipse with Sirius installed.

To reproduce the issue in a blank workspace:

  • Create an Ecore Modelling Project (New -> Other... -> Ecore Modeling Project),
  • Modify and save the .aird to make the issue more noticeable,
  • Create in the same workspace a Viewpoint Specification Project (New -> Other... -> Viewpoint Specification Project) or a .odesign file (New -> Other... -> Viewpoint Specification Model), the .aird view will then be blank.

Any modifications saved on an .odesign file will produce the issue again.

I have opened a bug report on Sirius' bugzilla : issue,
since it seems to be a Sirius issue.

I had a responce from Pierre-Charles David for the Sirius issue,
it seems the problem cannot be reproduced with Sirius 6.3.0 and Ecore Tools 3.3.2 and the problem will probably not be fixed for version 6.1.x .
