Updated transcript of a workshop presented by Magdalena Turska at the Digital Publishing for the Humanities: New Technologies and Ideas conference in Rome, September 2022

Outline

  • introduce e-editiones GitHub page and TEI Publisher public instance and documentation
  • edit an MS Word document with a recipe of user's choice
  • upload Word documents into the Annotation playground on the demo server
  • open imported documents in the Annotation editor

  • annotate the measures in the Annotation editor
  • manually edit the XML source in eXide, adding the xml:lang attribute on the TEI element
  • generate a new ODD in Publisher (workshop leader)
  • generate the app with the custom ODD (workshop leader)
  • copy XML source from TEI Publisher to the generated app
  • demonstrate out-of-the-box features of the generated app (workshop leader)
  • extend the custom app with the ingredient facet (workshop leader)

Edit a recipe in MS Word

Note: Use only pre-defined Word styles like Headings of different levels, List and regular paragraph style.

Consistent use of heading styles allows for clean division structure after Word to TEI conversion.
