Describe the feature:
Provide color options for axis
Describe a specific use case for the feature: When I have multiple axis And I have a reference line bound to each axis I need to match the axis to the threshold line color So I can easily see which threshold belongs to which axis
2nd use case: also improve the integration on canvas where the background color is more likely to be something custom
discussed today and we are not going to move forward with this issue in Lens. There are a few reasons for this:
describing theme-aware (dark / light) colors is not possible (we do have this issue elsewhere) but would be difficult here as well
TSVB wasn't a good experience from a color-selection perspective and led to visualizations that did not have optimal colors
the mockup was put together without too much consideration
most dashboards don't have axis colors (although we do see some on google image search)
this case is rare
can easily make bad looking dashboards
we want to do this (and more) via canvas/presentation features aka "photoshop for datavis" in the future...this belongs more as a @elastic/kibana-presentation area issue / project
