Forecast a series out to the end of time frame.

Could possibly be implemented by generating a new series that meets up with the forecast series and is plotted/named separately.

Support for different forecast models.

This is something that would need to be implemented in Elasticsearch. There are some folks working on it!

Interesting.. I don't quite understand why this couldn't be implemented in Kibana though; the histogram should be able to generate a forecast based on the data it has available to plot the graphs?

It could, but it would be duplicating work for something that would be better implemented in Elasticsearch itself.

For tracking purposes from the elasticsearch side, we've added these to 2.0.0b1 via elastic/elasticsearch#10545 (has master of elastic/elasticsearch#10568). Reference documentation at https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/2.0/search-aggregations-pipeline-movavg-aggregation.html

We've got a trend and hold function in timelion and in general for a better future prediction model we recommend using Machine learning. Thus I'll close this issue, since there are no intermediate plans of adding other forecast functions (outside of machine learning).
