Users would like the ability to export the data from the Monitoring UI to CSV.
In case a user have identified an issue on the monitoring GUI, they would like to export the data of this timeframe to CSV in order to share more information with co-workers / support

@alexfrancoeur do you mean the data as it is filtered and aggregated for the purpose of specific chart or the entire monitoring data for the time frame?
If it is the latter, it might be a big amount of data to get from the cluster and convert to CVS

Hmm. This recently made its way into Kibana but it doesn't seem to me that it implies that we'd have the same capability available in monitoring without building it ourselves.

@chrisronline can you comment?

I have no idea honestly.

Pinging @joelgriffith @kertal who did the work in #34571 - Do either of you know if this CSV export functionality is something easily reused or is it specific to reporting?

#34571 is largely built upon Saved-Search, so if that's how monitoring metrics are stored (via saved-search) then we can definitely re-use what we built for dashboards. Otherwise we'd have to look at the backing technology and see what needs to be done.

Unfortunately, monitoring doesn't use saved objects so I don't think we can easily use that

We like the idea, but it's unlikely this makes our roadmap in the near future. Please feel free to re-open if you feel strongly.
