We saw a snapshot failure https://kibana-ci.elastic.co/job/elasticsearch+snapshots+verify/1271/ caused by the time it takes, sometimes, to enumerate the git log and calculate the build number. To avoid this being the cause of future unit test failures we should mock out the bit of logic that reads the whole git history and just return a stupid number.
