Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

On Element Web, my workflow is this: I open up the space panel, look for spaces that have an 'unread' dot on them to find out where there has been activity, and then visit each of them to catch up with messages. However, on Android there is no such indication of which spaces are unread, which means I have to guess or know ahead of time where there has been activity in order to get to it. This is not a huge deal now since you can still easily see which rooms are unread from the "All rooms" view, but once #3754 is implemented they will become much harder to find.

Describe the solution you'd like.

There should be some kind of indicator displayed on spaces when they have unread messages, much like the dot that appears on Web:

dot

Though something like element-hq/element-web#16836 should be a thing as the space panel can be quite overwhelming when you have spaces with lots of public rooms

I really like the dots, as the alternative is having all my rooms notify me constantly :(

I am not saying remove them, I am saying let's use the low priority tag to hide them. An alternative would be a per-space setting which also isn't a bad idea, IMO. Now that I think of it, it might actually be a bit better, because it is a bit clearer to the user why the dots are visible/why they are not

Another vote for this. On desktop I have rooms belonging to spaces hidden in Home view and I just glance at unread indicators in spaces sidebar to see if there are any new messages. On Android it's quite the opposite, not a big issue but certainly an inconvenience with large number of rooms.

Hmm it would be really nice to get this as spaces are bit unfriendly on mobile without knowing whether there's unread message or not.
