Continuous cache or "sync" of a chatroom as alternative to "Export Chat"

Honestly, I always get the feeling that issues are sent to these discussion areas akin to "hospice care" since I'm guessing it means there's "no interest" but out of "politeness" they try not to upset you and tell you upfront that; nope we really don't care for that :)

I really think that users should have a good way to keep all their data/chats "local". Currently you can't access your chats if you're offline, there's a "good" reason that E-Mail has POP and IMAP so users can access their emails "locally" without internet etc.

We use chat for exchanging important info that we might need even without internet.
