Your use case

What would you like to do?

Markdown allows users to define links for arbitrary words/sentences ([hello](https://example.com)).

Currently, at the very least Element Desktop, doesn't show the link preview for these links.

If possible, i'd like for these links to be "peekable" on desktop.

Why would you like to do it?

Security, but also feature parity with other web-like behaviour.

How would you like to achieve it?

Either find a way to display it in a bottom-right/left corner, or show a small hover card with the link.

Have you considered any alternatives?

Duplicate of #6532 (note that on Desktop it's not easy for us to fix).
