  2. Before sending a first message, observe the timeline

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this one. @turt2live can you message me with the MXID next time you come across it?

The room had encryption enabled, but the banner lied. The user has encryption keys set up.

I just had the same issue with somebody who just set up their account - why can that be? What would be an unsupported device?
