Steps to reproduce

  1. Post a message from Element Desktop
  2. Reply in a thread from Element Android

Outcome

What did you expect?

The timeline thread tile to display "1 reply".

What happened instead?

It shows "2 replies". Clearly the total thread has 2 messages but only the second one is a reply.

Same issue here. Three replies, but summary says "6 replies". Only one user involved, no edits, no reacts.

The other thing is that (as mentioned in the screenshot) the initial behavior was that every time I added to the thread, a thread summary would appear showing "1 reply" and would then disappear about 50 milliseconds later. It was only once I reloaded the page that "6 replies" showed up.

This is on Element 1.11.24 with Dendrite 0.11.1 and is reproducible. Observed in Firefox, haven't tested elsewhere. Happy to give user account or logs to any dev who has trouble reproducing this.
