Steps to reproduce

  1. Paste a link in a room.
  2. Observe that a link preview is displayed.
  3. Switch to another room.
  4. Switch back.

Outcome

What did you expect?

The link preview should still be there, looking like it did before.

What happened instead?

The link preview disappears, and only the link is there.

Operating system

macOS 15.1.1

Application version

Element 1.11.88

This issue is new to Element desktop 1.11.88. Judging from the release notes, I suspect this is probably caused by #28579.

To confirm, I downgraded to Element desktop 1.11.87 and the issue went away. I also confirmed this problem happens on Windows 1.11.88.
