What Happened?

So when playing an old game on fullscreen, with Wine (not sure if relevant)
Any notification received suddenly minimizes the game/interrupt the fullscreen focused application

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Fullscreen Wine app
  2. receive notification

Expected Behavior

Notification stays behind. Or above. But not super minimize everything
I suppose this one is debatable. Is it OK for a notification to pull user out of a focused task if there is no DnD active?

OS Version

8.x (Early Access)

Session Type

Secure Session (Wayland)

Software Version

Latest release (I have run all updates)

Log Output

No response

Hardware Info

No response

Hey, just to make sure that this is xwayland or wine or something specific and not a general bug could you try running terminal, putting it in fullscreen (with F11) and then running notify-send test. This should just display the notifications above the fullscreen window (at least it does for me).

Works as expected. So indeed some wine/xwayland thing.

is wine not wayland native ?

I think they are working on it but AFAIK unless you're running some unstable or testing thing it's still X only.
