Maybe this is not possible with the plugin but it is an enhancement. In my opinion, there is no need to have a second open file dialog. It would be good to have this merged in the normal open file dialog. If you really want to change to bin, oct, or hex, you can do it, inside the open file dialog. If not, then you don't need to.

If this is not possible, maybe after the move from Oracle to Apache, it could be good, to have this plugin merged into the core, so that you can change the open file dialog logic.

Cheers

Chris

I doubt it's possible. I think I tried to use standard "Open File" dialog, but was not successful. Again, you can try it yourself if you want ;-)

As to move to Apache, integration is now even less likely to happen than with Oracle. I think it will take them years before they would be capable to accept such obscure/peripheral request for compatibility breaking change in platform to provide unimportant minimal change for minuscule fraction of their user base. I assume they will be busy for few years just to produce first stable release, accept second batch of source codes and catch up with Java 10 (11, 12, ...), tooling and modularization. Unless you have different internal information, of course ;-)

Best-effort somewhat working plugin is probably maximum I can provide for now. I'm still months from event finishing version 0.2.

Best regards,
HajdaM
