Having trouble installing models? Here are some things to check.
Github Status
Check Github Status. It's rare but sometimes Github is down or having trouble.
Check Your Model Name
Are you sure you have the model name right? Check the Install Guide to make sure you have the model name right. Note that some model names changed between v2 and v3.
Version Compatibility
spaCy models are not compatible between different major spaCy versions - for example, v2 models can't be used with v3. If you upgrade spaCy you will need to upgrade your models too.
Upgrade Your Certificates
If you get an error like
CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED
it's possible Python is using old certificates. Try upgrading your certificates like this:Corporate Networks and Other Causes
Are you on a corporate network or behind some kind of filtered Internet connection? If so there's nothing we can do to help you, you'll need to use a different network, a VPN, or talk to your network administrator.
Still Having Trouble?
If none of the above resolved your issue, please feel free to open a separate Discussion, and we'll see if we can help.
