Currently items are tracked by persistent id as they flow within the federation. This will confirm a common heritage for to paragraphs but it won't lead from one to the other. A small amount of additional information could be easily recorded to provide paragraphs with this provenance.

We suggest the add action of a dropped paragraph be tagged with the slug of the source if other than the current page and tagged with the site if different than the current site.

Such action bound sites would contribute to the context of any links (as with Reference) and would grow the neighborhood when viewed.

The journal could be colored with the source site's flag but this might interfere with spotting page provenance by eye. Perhaps a faded flag could be used.

Shift-hover over these journal entries might offer a link (») that would open and scroll to the paragraph source.

The paragraph itself would be unadorned so as to not disrupt the reading.

Issue #100 suggests user annotation of actions. User interface for these two issues should be considered together.

#96 (comment) suggests an alternative method of recording an items attribution.
