Can't read values from JBD 16s 48v BMS

I've got a JBD 16s BMS and I can connect to it but it doesn't ready any values from the BMS, or output any messages to MQTT. It just pings it forever. I can connect to the BMS using the JBD iOS app and read values over Bluetooth.

this is a mqtt issue, not related to the BMS

I don't understand, I'm only supposed to add the options.json the mac of the bms, brand bms and aliases.
Then in the section for mqtt put the IP of my mqtt server (do I need to put the port: 1883?)
mqtt username and password, would this be enough to connect?
