Problem

We need to systematically identify discrepancies between M1 and intel macs so that:

  1. they can be shared with osquery users
  2. we can prioritize fixing them

Requirements

  • Run all the mac-eligible tables on an intel mac and store the results
  • Do the same on an Apple Silicon mac
  • Run a diff comparing the two
  • Use osquery 5.5.1
  • Present the diff with Sharvil, Mo, and Zach Wasserman
  • The team will then:
-- document the differences in the fleet schema
-- ticket and determine priority for fixing the differences
