Q: When I try to update it goes through all the steps but I cant get to the latest version after a reboot
A: Make sure you are using the latest version from this github. Go to settings in RGBPi-Extra and remove and reboot, delete the RGBPi-Extra folder and download the installer from this github
Q: How does this all work?
A:
- RGBPi OS runs on Bullseye aarch64
- It uses a custom kernel driver for the GPIO output
- It uses a custom retroarch build with dynares driver built in, dynares gets the core fps and resolution and then adjusts a line in timings.dat, reinits the display which makes the the kernel driver framebuffer to match.
