Can we get like a basic default subdomain for each community. So when they make a PR for their community, what they get directly is a very basic default subdomain page, only containing things we know they all want, like tools, training and communities ?

Like copy/paste some boilerplate into each community? I'm sure you could do something like that.

@paulzierep , the point of Galaxy Labs was that it was carefully curated, not that it was just a data dump of all the resources. I think if that's what you want, you could probably automate a Hub page instead using Catalog outputs.

For Galaxy Labs, I think the 'example page' in the documentation is the best starting page, although don't get me wrong - I think that could probably be (communally) updated based on UI checking periodically, we could make some best tips and update it every, like, 6 months. So like single-cell went for a 'beginner, intermediate, advance' structure for each accordion, we could see if that worked well or not over time.

But I think generating that UI report for each subdomain would not be a small job, so perhaps that can be on the 'dreams' list?

Follow-up: I've made a new issue, made a label called 'dreams', and left that idea there :)

Gareth did also ask if we could make a boilerplate generator - a web form on labs.usegalaxy.org.au which a use can fill out lab name, subdomain, intro text, basic sections/tabs info. It would then spit out a Zip archive with the Lab boilerplate code that could be added to galaxy_codex or wherever they like. That seems like a good idea to me as it eliminates human error in that initial stage.
