Just leaving this here in case anyone who uses heroku and encounters this error

ActionView::Template::Error (undefined method `find_asset' for nil:NilClass)

after setting up your own image to live under app/assets/images/.

Just set

config.assets.compile = true

in config/environments/production.rb. Found this solution in
mileszs/wicked_pdf#476.
