Empty Page after install #31

Hi,

I want to move from lxc-containers to docker. I´m new to docker.

I´ve tryed to run seafile as described in docker, but I only receive an empty page.

What do I need to fix this?

Not really. When I look up the error message, I only find the same suggestion that I made already about the existing volume. Are you sure you deleted the volume?

Run docker-compose down, then docker volume ls to see what volumes exist. Then delete the db volume with docker volume rm volumename.

I can't reproduce the issue at all.

Hi,

first of all we'll need some logs to see what's going on.

Check if the containers are even running with docker ps -a.

Then get some logs:

docker logs seafile_seafile-server_1
docker logs seafile_seahub_1

Ok, this seems to be the reason:

Do I need to initialize the database?

The database is initialized automatically. Therefore the root password is needed, which was set incorrectly. The environment variable DB_ROOT_PASSWD of seafile-server must match the environment variable MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD of the MariaDB container.

I left the Password unmodified:

root@docker-1:~/seafile# cat docker-compose.yml | grep ROOT
      - DB_ROOT_PASSWD=db_dev
      - MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=db_dev

Currently I use some minor changes in the docker-compose-file:

Try to run docker-compose down then delete all volumes and deploy it again. You might have deployed the database before the change of the root password. The password is then set and can't be changed through the environment variable anymore.
