Version 4.3.2-201801250917 is a maintenance release; the main addition is support for semihosting in the SiFive RISC-V project template.

Known problems

  • [2018-01-30] sometime in the previous two versions, while adding support for xPack devices, a bug affecting the CMSIS devices was introduced, and in certain conditions the peripheral viewer shows no content; the bug was fixed in the pre-release v4.3.3; to try it, Install New Software... from the test update URL (http://gnu-mcu-eclipse.netlify.com/v4-neon-updates-test). Fixed in 4.3.3-201804191501.

Binaries

Separate archives for Windows 32/64-bits, Linux 32/64-bits and macOS 64-bits are provided.

As for the standard Eclipse distributions, there is no need for any install procedure, simply unpack the archive and move the Eclipse folder at a place of your choice. Having multiple Eclipse instances for different projects is not only allowed, but encouraged.

macOS

On macOS, if you downloaded the archive with the browser, remove the com.apple.quarantine extended attribute, otherwise the application will run from a randomised path and you won't be able to store persistent changes.

$ xattr -d com.apple.quarantine 20180125-1917-gnumcueclipse-4.3.2-oxygen-2-macosx.cocoa.x86_64.tar.gz

After un-archiving, check/remove the attribute from the Eclipse.app folder too:

$ xattr -d com.apple.quarantine Eclipse.app
