Make the default size of arrows in graph edit bit smaller / add setting to customize . . . #3280
Comments
Big thanks for these improvements, I think almost everybody can use the feature and, wow, cool . . . . |
To me, big improvement is it's more muted, de-saturated, it has made it less 'visual' and, more balanced, while still being geared towards artists, in a respectful way . . . So, 10 / 10 . . . However, the lines between nodes are still a bit over-saturated and, was thinking, if someone looked at that, tweaked it, here and there, it might be possible to make some comfortable themes, I think that's last bit, that is missing, to make it sort-of 'harmonious' or, sort-of clean, simple . . . So, hoping there will be settings to desaturate the arrows ( maybe boxes ), or have a range, of saturation values, for the interface, right now it's so good, well it's almost done, details, no more . . . ! ! <3 |
Well, think I'd like to use this theme or, so . . . Problem is, the well pink line, is a bit too glaring, really like a clean, simple, and neat sort-of visual . . . All the themes are now 9.4 +, some are 9.8 / 10 . . I think it's amazing work, can't wait to use shaders, also particle graph, I think almost everybody will be like, this mostly rocks . . . Well, thanks . . . . . Speaking for me, super - happy with it all, problem is the lines are still over - saturated and, bit glaring, or so . . ' HDR ', or so . . And, if a bit thinner, maybe is zoom - level, for non - logical lines, I think it's rock, thanks . . . . Maybe, someone could sit down, and find more modest, or simple visual, or so . . . Add: With the rights fonts, maybe a comic style one, or bold, it'd be really neat . . . Some examples, maybe one could have some different themes, or fonts, to make it ' dumb ', or modest, simple or, so . . . . Well, I'll keep working on it, when I find a good one, I think possibly make tutorials, also atm. visual script is much better, for new coders, beginners . . . It's just a more pleasant experience, and these small improvements, I think might make feature sort-of blow up, or be much more used, at least for beginners, and medium titles . . Thx, wonderful job . . . ! |
Uh, sorry, problem is with zoom, as one zooms out, lines are not scaled, remain same size, in pixels . . Having 4K screen, it's now possible to code, have nice amount of space, but the size of the arrows is sort-of, well bit too much . . . . The only problem is, the lines end up over-powering the screen, and take over, so reading is bit more difficult, not sure how to fix it, maybe some scale factor, as one zoom, thanks . . . . So, as one zooms out, the scripts bec. more, and more unreadable, or less so . . . It's not so nice, if one has 4K monitor, and likes to work at zoom - 1, or zoom - 2 . . Then, it sadly lowers UX, thank you . . Hope there's a quite solution, not sure why arrows don't scale, perhaps after new zoom levels have been added, it hasn't been discovered, anyway makes canvas less easy to read, hope there's a nice solution <3 |
Closing this proposal as we have officially discontinued the VisualScript module. It may return in future as an engine extension, then all the feedback can be reevaluated by maintainers of that extension. Thanks for your suggestion nonetheless! |
Describe the project you are working on
A barbarian 2.5D title . . .
Describe the problem or limitation you are having in your project
Right now, work on graph edit / visual script theme, it's simply amazing, 10 / 10, it's just, cool . . .
However, the size of the arrows, sort of gets in way, of reading the graph edit, imo. it's already so good, many users will now find this feature appealing, and just cool work, on behalf those who did this . . . Also, perhaps a setting to de-saturate the lines, not for logic . . .
Here's the superlative improvement, for Godot 4 <3
It's now, as good as it gets, and 10/10, simply stunning . . . However, the arrows, or the lines, are sort of too thick, and over-power the reading . . I'd suggest, difficult to ask for more, considering wow how it is now, yet the not-logic lines were a bit thinner, and also the main logic lines, maybe logic lines, say 80 % size, and math lines, maybe 60 % of size . . .
This is a major leap forward, esp. now there's also bug - fixes, also visual shaders, wow, and if there's at some time, a particle graph, this will be excellent . . .
Anyway, esp. for lighter themes, the arrow size is so big, it gets in way of reading, also somewhat so for the darker themes . . . My suggestion is, someone sit down, and find a better size, for the arrows, and also perhaps desaturated the colored lines, since it doesn't add to information and, find a neat balance, between readability and, function <3 Thx . . . ! !
Describe the feature / enhancement and how it helps to overcome the problem or limitation
Well, Godot 4, is amazing . . . You've outdone yourself, that's that . . . I think a last detail is, lower size of the arrows and, it's bit more readable and, then it's glorious feature, thx . . .
Describe how your proposal will work, with code, pseudo-code, mock-ups, and/or diagrams
It looks like it mostly happens when zoomed to level - 1 . . Was hoping someone might look at it, and fine a more readable, and clear version, something nice . . . Thx ! ! . .
Sorry, made quick sketch, it's not perfect atm, bit more readable and, calm or, so . . .
And, again wow, I think the 'dream' I had of visual script or, graph edit is basically done, it's done really well and, many more users will enjoy this feature, and maybe also maintaining it will be more fun, etc . . . .
If this enhancement will not be used often, can it be worked around with a few lines of script?
Well, have a 4K screen, and with a good font, etc . . It's now quite possible to code, at zoom level - 1 and, it's simply amazing, well done . . .
However, at that zoom - level, the arrows are so thick, it's sadly difficult, or so . . To read them, hope someone will look at the arrow size, and find a nice setting, for all zoom - levels, not sure . . .
Right now, it's 9.8 / 10, just amazing . . .
Thanks . . .
Is there a reason why this should be core and not an add-on in the asset library?
Well, it's a small concern, coding on 4K monitor, well it's really amazing, big canvas, tons, of code . . . It's so close to just, DONE now, hope you'll give the last details, bit of, time . . . !
