What version of dep are you using (dep version)?

v0.3.1-70-ga445d4d

What dep command did you run?

dep prune

What did you expect to see?

There's a way to preserve user defined files (e.g., proto files) on pruning.

What did you see instead?

It seems like fixed set of files (e.g., license) are preserved but there's no way to preserve user defined files.

hi, welcome! yes, we don't currently offer a way to preserve user-defined files. #944 does describe a way that, in addition to absorbing prune into ensure, we will offer more granular control over the files that are pruned - but arbitrary rules (also requested here #1223 (comment)) aren't something we'll be able to do, because it would ruin, or at least negatively impact, verification.
