Scanner not available now

Hi there,

I have tried downloading the authenticator and the barcode scanner by ZXING, but whenever I try to run the barcode scan I get an error saying that the "barcode scanner is not available now"

Any advise on how I can fix this?

also does not work on my amazon fire 7 tablet - same error message displayed despite trying several different qr / barcode scanners including the xzing one

It worked on my Note 5 using QR & Barcode Scanner. But I have factory reseted my phone, and installed both apps again, and after that I encounter the same problem.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled both apps, but nothing got better.
