I think the Android developer community would really benefit from a GPL app that we can all send end-users to for doing such a thing.

This App seems to be a good enough starting point.

The original purpose of the app was described in Issue #10 - but I think a new purpose would be great.

FURTHER - I propose adding ANOTHER new purpose ;) Generation of self-signed certificates. I have found myself in a situation of needing this and would rather keep it in a GPL app where multiple developers have their eyes on the critical sections.

That does sound valuable. We originally wrote this app to provide a way to manage CA certs on the device. Since Android now provides that, we don't need this app for Android 4.0 and newer. But it would be great to see it live on for other uses! Please fork it and take it over and turn it your vision! :-)
