Per @armon's suggestion in this thread, I am opening this ticket to track support for AWS Route 53 ALIAS A records.

Hi guys.

This will be a very welcome fix indeed as it will allow us to alias ELBs directly.

For anyone in need of a workaround, you can see how I did it. I wrote a script here, which takes the R53 zone ID and an ELB name. I then added it as a provisioner for my ELB here.
