Speed Read is a Chrome extension designed to enhance your reading experience on the web. By bolding the initial characters of each word, Speed Read aims to increase reading speed and efficiency, making web content more accessible and easier to digest.

Installation

To install the Speed Read extension in Chrome, follow these steps:

  1. Download or clone this repository to your local machine.
  2. Open Google Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions/.
  3. Enable "Developer mode" at the top right corner.
  4. Click "Load unpacked" and select the folder where you have saved the extension files.
  5. The extension should now be installed and visible in your Chrome toolbar.

Usage

To use the Speed Read extension:

  1. Navigate to a webpage where you want to enhance the reading experience.
  2. Click on the Speed Read icon in your Chrome toolbar.
  3. The extension will automatically highlight the initial characters of words in the webpage content.
  4. For a refresh of the page with the speed reading feature, click the extension icon and use the "Refresh Page" button in the popup.
