The following high-level pseudocode was created as a reader’s guide for non-programmers to understand the functionalities of the MATLAB routine we created to compute material loss using the M3C2 method into a single numeric value per each comparison. Readers with a stronger technical background will find more nuanced information on the functionalities of the routine directly in the heavily-commented source code.
1) Load input text file with format:

Where the first line is the header, the second line is the number of rows, and the third line is a repeating data series matching the header.
2) Collect all Distance and Certainty fields.
3) Compute points where Distance < Threshold
4) Eject uncertain points where Uncertainty < Calibrated Percentage
5) Transpose data into new file and save.
