We have long had theinvert_axes option, which swaps the x- and y-axis, which is particularly useful to adjoin a plot to the right of a main plot. In #779 I ensured that most plot types support axis inversions but I have not yet tackled Raster types. These should be supported but since they are rarely adjoined I did not make it a priority to support them. In future all plot types should support it properly including the Raster types.
