Panel setup lost after browser cache / cookies cleared #8976

That is not a bug, but a new feature request. Everything is currently working as intended (although I personally do agree it would be nice to store that not only in the local browser memory). |

Regardless how long i think about this: i can not imagine where it makes (in the long run) sense to save personal settings only in the local browser as cookies or something like that. There is always a reason to clear local browser storage and than one loses all his setup options. Here: the complete sidebar menu setup with hidden and added entries and the personal list sequenz of entries. From my point of view this is a bug. But i do not wanna complain or advocad here. Don't get me wrong. I think it musst be possible to have user related settings in the user profile on the server. That is the place to store this kind of settings and this is what a end user expects from an user experience view. I was very supprised to lost my settings and i was pretty sure: this can only be a bug. If someone things cookies are the way to go, than it should be possible to let the user decide where to store (and this setting should be remembered on the server side :-))). Thank you very much for your clarification on this one. How can one request this "feature"? Or is that already on the list? |

Additional information
All user related setup (theme, panel etc. pp.) should be saved in the user entry. This makes sure that the config is available regardless of the browser or device in question.
I fear that some information is stored in cookies or other storage local to / in the browser.
Thanks for your attention and keep up the great work!
