I have 50k+ site, will this default search work with it?

It will work, but external search service is better way for large site, to save user's bandwidth, and speed up search, since default search need to download index file (in this case, it could be very large).

I'd recommend using Google Custom Search if your site isn't compatible with DocSearch policy, I don't have a plan to implement Algolia search so far.

Couldn't find the cause from limited information, it would be helpful if you can provide a minimal reproducable repo.

I think one of my pages had wrong non-existent short-code; I deleted 90% of pages and issue disappeared.

I have done 2 years ago Algolia integration for another website, with Algolia provided auto-suggest, I'll try to reimplement for my new site. Netlify has plugin which will cause Algolia to reindex new pages but it may take many more hours (after deployment)
