Hi all,
I'm a commercial person trying to digest some specifics of technology, so will appreciate your guidance.
Right now many companies use Fabric for traceability of materials, and I'm wondering whether I understand the capabilities of Fabric channels for that purpose correctly. Especially in terms of their implications for confidentiality and commercial data.
Here is the example:
If we assume the end to end chain of a good X: A-> B-> C
It seems that to establish traceability, all A, B, and C must be in one channel to have same version of the ledger. But if we assume that B buys from two places, A and A*, to ensure that C can trace material back to A or to A*, all four must be in one channel?
If no, then how does the system control for double spend from B perspective or ensures traceability to source?
If yes, is it true that C will see exact supply mix of B, and A and A*, being competitors, will see volumes of each other?
Really can't wrap my mind around this functionality and viability for commercial data.
