Is there a minimum buffer size for Decoders or Encoders where things will fail?

On some compression algorithms, or implementations, there is a minimum size that a buffer can be for it to work properly.

Example: from Gzip / zlib (yes, Jetty encountered an issue around this topic)

Is there a minimum buffer size for the decoders or encoders on Brotli4j? or is size of 1 even possible? (albeit quite pointless from a performance point of view).
