The GitHub parser does not recognize the current LICENSE file as containing an MIT License body. You can tell by looking at the sidebar. It says "View license" whereas a project like VueJS says "MIT license".

To make GH recognize the MIT license, the exact rendering with the exact line breaks and exact positioning of the copyright line must be used.
